Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her stage title Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The singer continued uploading her music online in 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs to the Dreamville Team later that year as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references. Then, in December of 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had been hired by Dreamville Records. On the album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album called Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter performed on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream of the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a an accompanying music video. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The music video premiered on February 20, 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
